Dog Friendly Locations - Our weekend at the Dog Show!

Guys, we had a BLAST!

I wanted to create a new post to encourage us all to share places we've been and LOVE that are dog friendly. It's so hard sometimes to travel with dogs, but this weekend we went to an Air BnB that was pet friendly, had so many accommodations for the dogs, dog beds in every room, blankets, towels, bowls, a pool and a great yard(though unfenced) for running around.

The dog show we were at was hosted by a Dog friendly winery! There are trails and events there, the patio is dog friendly and all their drinks are dog themed!

Diet Related Cardiomyopathy - Grain free diet

Hello Families,

it's been some time since I've updated the website with photos and ideas, but I thought with the big "grain free" question circling around, that I should probably give my 2 cents on the topic.

While I don't feed grain free, I do know that many of the diets offer great protein sources and other great ingredients, some ingredients are maybe too rich, but that's another topic all together. From what I've heard, the issue surrounds the inclusion of "fillers" like legumes, lentils and peas that have been found to affect the hearts in our beloved dogs.

Rest assured that DCM is quite rare in our aussie friends! Here's a link to our Australian Shepherd Health and Genetics Institute on the topic to ease your minds. http://www.ashgi.org/home-page/genetics-info/heart-and-blood/cardiomyopathy

All of the research being done is very new as it applies to food related DCM, they only just started looking…

Thanks Jocelyn. Lots of info! We still have Rowdy in FROMM puppy and will transition to adult soon. He eats it well and is keeping a nice coat and a good weight. So many people comment on his nice coat.

High Drive/High Energy Dog

Hello everyone! I had a colleague share this with her puppy people, and I was thinking it might be useful for some of you too! https://3lostdogs.com/how-to-live-with-a-high-energy-dog-without-losing-your-mind/ I haven't heard that any of you are having issues with excessive energy, anxiety or any overly concerning or abnormal behaviours, but I think there is a great takeaway about structure/schedule I took this clippet directly from this article - (which attached to the bottom of this post) Obviously 30minutes may be "too much" for you, which doesn't mean - don't do 30minutes - but work yourself up to that length! Maybe start at 15minutes, any time you can spend with your dog in the morning will help! Keep their minds busy by taking different routes, bringing treats or a tug toy and keep their brain active too! Amazon has tons of "smart" toys! Busy balls, food dispensers etc. And a quick google search for "dog…
