Your 7m Old Puppy!(EARLY SPAY/NEUTER INFO)

Hey Guys,

I thought I would just give a quick check in to say "Hello" I hope everyone had awesome summers with their fun, playful, and sometimes challenging aussie pups!

I started to think last night, - This is a very typical time for encouragement from veterinarians to Spay/Neuter- I want to implore you all to consider the stage of growth and development that your puppies are at, bones are still calcifying and growing, joints are developing, musculature continues to strengthen, all of these things require all of the benefits of natural hormones. Estrogen and Testosterone are both very important for the health of your puppy!

I'm going to attach an article I found, and some visuals from the article(as I'm guessing it's unlikely everyone will dive right into this thrilling literature ;))

I want to stress that if you are having behavioural concerns with your puppy, and would like to discuss options, I would be happy to help, although so far I've not heard of too to many concerns. I hope no one is struggling in silence! Spaying/Neutering can be an option to help calm some problem behaviours, however I don't think it should be considered a cure-all and definitely not the first line of action to dissuade problem behaviours. Please reach out with any concerns, or even just to chat!

As always my phone # is 226-921-0253

Or you can reach me here, or e-mail ehgoetzj@gmail.com

As an added benefit of not spay/neutering, you will likely find that you have a much nicer looking aussie once they reach maturity. Although granted this is more of a "Show dog" concern, bones and muscles are known to become stronger/broader and more moderate, and coat condition and length is improved with intact dogs.

For Storm we thought of waiting til at least 14 months. In the city they pressure you but we want to wait until he is filled out nicely. What does everyone else think?
