Clicker Training
Hey guys! I've been having some really great success with clicker training. I know I sent clickers home with some of you, I'll post some videos later tonight of what we've been working on. Remember its not always about getting them to perform a trick, it's about shaping their good behaviours. "Clicker" - Treat, "Clicker" - Treat, repeat!
Attention is a great place to start, your puppy looks at you? "Clicker" - Treat, repeat! This can be a great tool for walks, if you find your puppy is pulling or distracted, bring a small bag of treats(low value = kibble, high value = cheese or meat) if you catch your puppy looking up to you, "Clicker" - Treat, repeat! Higher value treats for better performance, or higher skill level requests(and a more active participant). Hope this helps!
