Recall
Rowdy has great recall until his puppy brain is focussed on something more interesting, like the horses on the other side of the fence or the cats. Then well its not so great. room for improvement that's for sure! any suggestions? maybe i am expecting too much of his puppy brain?

Yeah, it's probably a little advanced just yet. Recall games are great to start in fairly neutral territory, and with higher value treats! The more interested he is in the treats the more excited he will be about returning to you.
Another good tip is (although it's difficult) when our puppies have done something wrong, often our first response is to say "puppy, come here! That's a bad dog! No!" And trust me everyone does it! But it puts a negative association on the idea of recall for the puppy. Instead of thinking, *hey I get treats when I go see her* he starts to think *did I do something bad?*. If they've done something wrong it's best to go to them, to let them know.
One of my first steps for recall is kneeling or sitting on the ground, "come puppy" and hold out the treat(and lots of snuggles too!). Then if/when they start to walk away, "come puppy" hold out the treat, and repeat! (Also using the clicker is helpful too!) Don't let them get more then a couple feet away, or the distraction may be too big for their little brains. The shorter the training session the better at this young age :)
I'll try and work on a video today! I'm a schedule free woman today, thank heavens.
